This paper explains how to introduce an energy consumption control system and how this system can improve the energy efficiency of a manufacturing plant by allowing the organization to identify – often inexpensive - actions for improvement. The paper presents a methodology based on the deduction of system behavior by analyzing historical data on energy consumption and related factors through regression analysis. The proposed methodology is shown by means of a case study in a pharmaceutical plant, but it is applicable in many industrial sectors.

Abstract
This paper explains how to introduce an energy consumption control system and how this system can improve the energy efficiency of a manufacturing plant by allowing the organization to identify – often inexpensive - actions for improvement. The paper presents a methodology based on the deduction of system behavior by analyzing historical data on energy consumption and related factors through regression analysis. The proposed methodology is shown by means of a case study in a pharmaceutical plant, but it is applicable in many industrial sectors.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
