This paper aims to explore the model of university governance that is emerging in Italy after the introduction of the law n. 240/2010. Different models of governance have been analysed: university governance by the academic staff, corporate governance, trustee governance, stakeholder governance, business governance. The review provides a framework for discussing the aim of the paper and the empirical results on a sample of 74 Italian universities out of 81.
