In this paper, a method for grey-scale image rotation by means of cellular neural networks (CNNs) is proposed. This method is made up of two steps. First, we carry out a small rotation. Then, we apply a proper sequence of translations of pixel blocks. In both cases, we can use the same programmable 3×3 template, easily implemented with different types of CNN hardware.
