The paper addresses the capacity estimation for cellular CDMA systems, assuming the IS-95 standard as a reference. System capacity is evaluated by means of an analytical approach, which accounts for internal and external interference, shadowing, and imperfect power control. The analytical results are confirmed via Monte Carlo simulations, showing excellent agreement which confirms the correctness of the analytical approach. Among various results, it is confirmed that tight power control (within a 1 dB std. dev.) is a necessity for these systems

Abstract
The paper addresses the capacity estimation for cellular CDMA systems, assuming the IS-95 standard as a reference. System capacity is evaluated by means of an analytical approach, which accounts for internal and external interference, shadowing, and imperfect power control. The analytical results are confirmed via Monte Carlo simulations, showing excellent agreement which confirms the correctness of the analytical approach. Among various results, it is confirmed that tight power control (within a 1 dB std. dev.) is a necessity for these systemsI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
