Reinforcement corrosion can significantly affect the service life of reinforced concrete (RC) structures and infrastructures. Laboratory tests on artificially corroded elements can represent an aid to understand the structural consequences of the degradation, especially allowing to study the effects of corrosion induced in targeted structural components. In this work, recent tests on corroded RC beams performed in the framework of a broader experimental program are discussed. Results obtained from digital image correlation (DIC) on the evolution of crack patterns and deformations are also considered, which can be an aid in analyzing the flexural behaviour of the corroded RC members.

Abstract
Reinforcement corrosion can significantly affect the service life of reinforced concrete (RC) structures and infrastructures. Laboratory tests on artificially corroded elements can represent an aid to understand the structural consequences of the degradation, especially allowing to study the effects of corrosion induced in targeted structural components. In this work, recent tests on corroded RC beams performed in the framework of a broader experimental program are discussed. Results obtained from digital image correlation (DIC) on the evolution of crack patterns and deformations are also considered, which can be an aid in analyzing the flexural behaviour of the corroded RC members.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
