Establishing Lean Six Sigma programs to spread a Problem-Solving culture: a case study of a pharmaceutical company

The purpose of this research is to highlight the importance of a structured Problem-Solving (PS) method, such as Lean Six Sigma (LSS), through its training programs and application in a pharmaceutical plant and to compare it with unstructured process improvement approaches. The research aims to show how Lean Six Sigma training and project implementation foster greater employee engagement and the development of structured data- driven Problem-Solving skills. Furthermore, the subsequent execution of Lean Six Sigma project emphasizes the importance of senior management support, which must believe in the professional growth of its employees as a factor of competitiveness and success. The results presented will demonstrate the importance of training and implementing Lean Six Sigma, with the necessary support of senior management in a pharmaceutical company.
