The Study of the Western Cultural Canon and Critical Thinking Assesment

The present contribution aims at describing the theoretical background and the methodological system on which the “Study of the Western Cultural Canon and Evaluation of Critical Thinking” project is based. The project was founded by the Department of Education at Roma Tre University. The main objective of the project is to examine how the written description and the interpretation of different kinds of literary texts, in relation to figurative artworks, can develop students’ Critical Thinking, improving their language and expressive skills as well. The project was carried out during the 2018/2019 academic year and involved students from the Master’s degree in Pedagogical Sciences – Roma Tre University.
