Given a set of possibly noisy data belonging to a spatial curve, we propose a strategy, based on local zero moments, for the construction of a piecewise linear curve which describes the shape of the data. Such a piecewise linear is the required input in constructing a smooth approximating curve reproducing the shape of the data. Graphical examples illustrate the performances of the method.

Abstract
Given a set of possibly noisy data belonging to a spatial curve, we propose a strategy, based on local zero moments, for the construction of a piecewise linear curve which describes the shape of the data. Such a piecewise linear is the required input in constructing a smooth approximating curve reproducing the shape of the data. Graphical examples illustrate the performances of the method.File in questo prodotto:
