The article aims to show how the poem De reditu by Rutilius Namatianus contains numerous gnomic verses, which can be identified as a typical feature of Rutilius’ writing. Three exemplary instances are analysed here, two taken from the first book (vv. 4; 96), and one from the second (v. 40), in which the poet, by means of a sentence, wishes to fix in the reader’s memory a particularly significant concept.
L'intervento prende in esame alcuni versi dell'opera di Rutilio Namaziano 'de reditu suo' che hanno una natura sentenziosa e si configurano come cifra stilistica del poeta.
