In the last few years the use of fiber reinforced concrete is remarkably increased. In order to further encourage the use of this material it is necessary to provide the designer with codes and guidelines. The new Guidelines for Fiber Reinforced Concrete CNR-DT 204-2006 aims to satisfy this necessity. In the present paper the use of CNR-DT 204-2006 is discussed by proposing practical applications. Firstly, the procedure to define the tensile behaviour of the material, starting from experimental laboratory results, is illustrated. Eventually, the design of beams under bending moment and shear for ultimate limit state is considered. In addition, some parametric curves are presented in order to better highlight the fiber contribution.
