In this manuscript, some design aspects of the Speedy’O’Brain neurofeedback videogame have been outlined. It is built on top of BF++, a framework for building bio-feedback and Brain-Computer Interfaces. It makes large use of object-oriented programming techniques and the adoption of a well-defined functional model is the key for making it easily adaptable and customizable, as herein described. The chosen programming language, C++, the compatibility with a widely used software platform and its free availability, makes the proposed solution a valuable starting point for building neurofeedback applications.

Abstract

In this manuscript, some design aspects of the Speedy’O’Brain neurofeedback videogame have been outlined. It is built on top of BF++, a framework for building bio-feedback and Brain-Computer Interfaces. It makes large use of object-oriented programming techniques and the adoption of a well-defined functional model is the key for making it easily adaptable and customizable, as herein described. The chosen programming language, C++, the compatibility with a widely used software platform and its free availability, makes the proposed solution a valuable starting point for building neurofeedback applications.
