Erbium (III) tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) (ErQ3) solution was deposited on glass substrates using spin-coating processing under high temperature conditions. 1.52 μm centered infrared photoluminescence induced by laser and LED sources was measured, confirming ErQ3 as a potential material for application to optical communications devices. Spin-coating of ErQ3 allows for more flexibility for infrared emitting OLED implementation and design as with imprinting lithography. © 2007 IEEE.
