In this work an investigation on the damping properties and transmission of metal foam samples is proposed. The specimens are composed of metal foam aluminium T6101 -T6, both in the supply conditions and after partial covering with epoxy-polyester resin. The data analysis is performed through a statistical approach based on power spectral densities: Auto-Spectral-Density and Cross-Spectral Density. The coherence function allows to check the quality of the measurements. The damping is evaluated by the half power bandwidth technique and by logarithmic decay measurement.
