The evolution of air interfaces for 4G wireless systems often appears as an OFDM-CDMA battle which OFDM is going to win. This paper reviews this point of view and highlights some other features of this evolution. The paper presents a novel multicode DS-CDMA scheme which has the same advantages as OFDMA over frequency selective channels: good performance with low complexity one-tap receiver. Actually, OFDMA can be seen as a special case of the proposed scheme. The analysis of this scheme will help identifying the main features of the evolution of the air interfaces towards 4G.

Abstract
The evolution of air interfaces for 4G wireless systems often appears as an OFDM-CDMA battle which OFDM is going to win. This paper reviews this point of view and highlights some other features of this evolution. The paper presents a novel multicode DS-CDMA scheme which has the same advantages as OFDMA over frequency selective channels: good performance with low complexity one-tap receiver. Actually, OFDMA can be seen as a special case of the proposed scheme. The analysis of this scheme will help identifying the main features of the evolution of the air interfaces towards 4G.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
