SIXXI: storia dell'ingegneria strutturale in Italia, vol. 1

SIXXI is the name given to a project that will create a new history of structural engineering. This volume covers the Italian Contribution to this absorbing subject. The full story will be eventually contained in several volumes (6) as the story is gradually researched and rediscovered. It will also cover new areas that have received very little attention in the past. An appendix provides a picture story that briefly outlines the overall sequence of events and major works, with particular emphasis on Italian invention, and recovers much information that had otherwise disappeared from view in the world of modern engineering.

La ricerca SIXXI (twentieth century structural engineering: the italian contribution) ha lo scopo di ricostruire la storia dell'ingegneria strutturale in Italia. una storia avvincente, a tratti gloriosa, e comunque singolare. una storia, inopinatamente, dimenticata. Nei volumi di questa serie intendiamo raccontare la vicenda, cosí come la veniamo man mano riscoprendo. Le indagini restituiscono alcuni episodi della storia, recuperati con studi trasversali su territori largamente inesplorati. in appendice, un fotoromanzo a puntate (invenzione italiana) illustra in breve la sequenza complessiva degli eventi e delle opere principali e ripropone l'universo figurativo scomparso dell'ingegneria moderna.
