Abstract

The research tackles a problem about the evolution, during the centuries, of the prohibition of usury into the Book’s religions. Starting with the analysis of sacred texts, Old and New Testament and Qu’ran, and to the doctrinal elaborations of Church’s Fathers, and to the Islamics theologians and jurists, this study is to examine the common element that unifies and, at the same time, moves away the different religion’s dictates, the different duties’s believers and the different life’s impositions, that comes even until our days. This study reconstructs the prohibition of usury wit a new and evolutionary view, that arrives at the definitive usury’s abolishment on the XV century with the birth of the Monti di pietà bank. So that, the interest request becomes one of the main factors for the spread and growth of the international markets. On the contrary, the observance, until now, of this interdiction on the Islamic world appears with their ranges and their developments, that took the entire economic system to an atypical evolution for the European ideologies, for the Judaico-Christian concepts. The interdiction of usury was born and was notifies into the Qu’ran, the unchangeable and perfect word of God, that crossed the centuries until now without changes and exceptions. In our days this interdiction appears to be the same as in the past, because the divine interdiction of usury doesn’t represent a limit for the fantasy or for the individual freedom entrepreneurship, but the interdiction of usury is one’s of cornerstones on which the entire Islamic believer doctrine is founded. The interdiction of usury is a fundamental part of Islamic doctrine: religious dictates, ethics and morals, which represent the real nature of Islam, and which are unchangeable and impossible to derogate. A muslim believer works in a membership community and hi respects these dictates, these moral limitations which didn’t stop him to build an original and efficient economic, banking and commercial system on the international markets.
