Acid phosphatase (ACPI), esterase D (ESD) and phosphoglucomutase I (PGMI) polymorphisms have been studied in Sardinia and the following gene frequen¬cies have been found: ACPI *A = 0.235, ACPI *B = 0.684 and ACPI *C = 0.081; ESD*2 = 0.118 and PGM I *2 = 0.233. These findings confirm the genetic uniqueness of Sardi¬nians compared to the other Italian and European populations.

Abstract
