A reinvestigatio of fusicoccin (FC) binding properties in plasmalemma-enriched membranes of maizecoleoptiles has been carried out. Scatchard plots of experimental binding data have been analysed by a non-linear least-squares fitting program and are consistent with two classes of independent binding sites. The Kd-values obtained are Kd = 3.3 ± 1.6 × 10−10 M, Kd2 = 1.3 ± 0.53 × 10−8 M and are independent of protein concentration. They are only in partial agreement with those previously obtained by a different method of analysis.

Abstract

A reinvestigatio of fusicoccin (FC) binding properties in plasmalemma-enriched membranes of maizecoleoptiles has been carried out. Scatchard plots of experimental binding data have been analysed by a non-linear least-squares fitting program and are consistent with two classes of independent binding sites. The Kd-values obtained are Kd = 3.3 ± 1.6 × 10−10 M, Kd2 = 1.3 ± 0.53 × 10−8 M and are independent of protein concentration. They are only in partial agreement with those previously obtained by a different method of analysis.
