Music and dance, like any other form of cultural expression, is subject to both continuity and change. The article explore how some aspects of the music of the Bakonzo, people living in Rwenzori mountain, have experienced continuity and change in the last century (1906-2006). Some examples of vocal and instrumental music are analysed in their evolution thank to oral evidences, coming from a fieldwork done by the authors in 2005, and documentation coming from archives and bibliography (Czekanowsky, Tracey, Wachsmann, Cooke, Facci).
