This survey deals with a possible metaphysical interpretation of Einstein’s relativity theory. More precisely, the main aim of this work is to give a novel explanation concerning the existence of what physicists call dark energy and cosmologists quintessence. Although philosophical considerations can be deduced from the investigation of this elusive energy, the approach of the present paper is essentially scientific, being based on Einstein’s tensor equations and on the corresponding metrics from a metaphysical and metamathematical point of view, introduced here at a semi-elementary level. The role played by the cosmological constant Lambda is of course fundamental. In particular, it is shown that Lambda must be necessarily considered as a spacetime function. Since the latter assumption violates the local conservation of energy, the classical vacuum solutions of Einstein’s equations must be generalized in a new concept named “immaterial solutions”, thereby defining the corresponding energy-fields as “immaterial substances”. Moreover, the classical cosmological alternatives Lambda= 0 or Lambda # 0 and hence, the creation, the expansion and the asymptotical behaviour of our universe can be seen in terms of two distinct hypotheses concerning the “destiny” of biological life.

Abstract
Moreover, the classical cosmological alternatives Lambda= 0 or Lambda # 0 and hence, the creation, the expansion and the asymptotical behaviour of our universe can be seen in terms of two distinct hypotheses concerning the “destiny” of biological life.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
