We provide some comments on the Seidel-Herzel model of the human baroreflex feedback control mechanism, and on how it has been used in literature to mimic observed features of in vivo heart rate data. We demonstrate that the potential of re-parameterizing of this model in order to reproduce human physiology has not been fully exploited, and point out several potential pitfalls when trying to do so.
