Abstract

The analysis of volatiles secreted outside the human body to get information on the health status of the individuals has been the subject of various studies. With the advent of chemical sensors and chemical sensor systems, performing such studies became faster. In this report, some examples of these applications are presented. These examples can give rise to a better comprehension of the role of smell and odor in humans and, possibly in the future, in novel diagnostic tools.
