This paper proposes a method to analyze longitudinal brittle fracture propagation of a buried gas pipeline based on assessment of energy release rate. It illustrates the implementation of above methodology within an owner FEM code with explicit formulation, highlighting actions carried out on existing stationary propagation algorithm, and proposing the results obtained by dynamics simulations conducted on X80 steel pipes and full thickness SENB in DWT test.

Abstract
This paper proposes a method to analyze longitudinal brittle fracture propagation of a buried gas pipeline based on assessment of energy release rate. It illustrates the implementation of above methodology within an owner FEM code with explicit formulation, highlighting actions carried out on existing stationary propagation algorithm, and proposing the results obtained by dynamics simulations conducted on X80 steel pipes and full thickness SENB in DWT test.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
