Teeth loss and the socioeconomic aspect of vulnerable edentulous patients at the NIHMP Dental Clinic in Rome, Italy

This study investigates the relationship between tooth loss and socioeconomic, demographic, and behavioral factors among 100 socially vulnerable patients attending the NIHMP Social Dental Clinic in Rome, Italy. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study examines factors including age, education, economic status, smoking, diet, oral hygiene, and access to healthcare. The findings highlight significant associations between teeth loss and socioeconomic disadvantage and unhealthy behaviors, emphasizing the need for preventive care, affordable dental services, and public health strategies to reduce oral health inequalities among vulnerable populations.
