We agree that the presence of a language therapist could add significant insight into the evaluation and treatment of perioperative language disorders in patients under- going awake craniotomy for lesions in language areas.2 Unfortunately, in some centres and in some settings this professional contribution is not available or might be lim- ited. Abstract
We agree that the presence of a language therapist could add significant insight into the evaluation and treatment of perioperative language disorders in patients under- going awake craniotomy for lesions in language areas.2 Unfortunately, in some centres and in some settings this professional contribution is not available or might be lim- ited. The purpose of our communication was to highlight the need, the feasibility and the importance of structured language testing (before, during and after with a short- and long-term follow-up evaluation) in these patients.3| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
