Liberalizzazione e strategie aziendali nel mercato del gas: l’esperienza del gruppo ENI

In the light of the liberalization process nowadays occurring in the Italian gas market, the paper studies ENI’s performance in the period 2000-05. More deeply, the research focuses on the most relevant strategic and organizational changes affecting the firm. The research framework is based on the European and Italian laws concerning the gas market liberalization process. Relevant changes concerning ENI’s strategy and structure in the period are first historically reviewed. Some research hypotheses concerning the causal relationship between the two variables are then set. The analysis is based on public sources such as ENI’s management surveys, historical archives and corporate governance reports.
