This article investigates group and individual musical practices of Nharo musicians and composers from D’kar, a village situated in western Botswana, 40 Km east of Ghanzi. Nowadays, about 2,000 Nharo (or Naro) speaking people live in D’kar. Nharo is a Khoisan language spoken in eastern Namibia, too. Before focusing on the biographies of the music makers and the analysis of some of their compositions on the six-string guitar, the zhoma (a four-string adaptation of the pluriarc), and the danghaderi (an over one meter long musical bow with external resonator), a brief introduction to the present situation of the Khoisan peoples in Botswana and the history of D’kar Village will be given.
