The solution structure of a double stranded octanucleotide DNA segment [d(CGTATACG)]2 has been studied by NMR spectroscopy. The complete assignment of the 400 MHz NMR spectrum was obtained by a number of 2D NMR experiments (DQF-COSY, TOCSY and NOESY at different mixing time values). Proton-proton coupling constants of the ribose rings were also obtained. The solution structure was thus determined. The DNA segment resulted to be in a B-type conformation.

Abstract

The solution structure of a double stranded octanucleotide DNA segment [d(CGTATACG)]2 has been studied by NMR spectroscopy. The complete assignment of the 400 MHz NMR spectrum was obtained by a number of 2D NMR experiments (DQF-COSY, TOCSY and NOESY at different mixing time values). Proton-proton coupling constants of the ribose rings were also obtained. The solution structure was thus determined. The DNA segment resulted to be in a B-type conformation.
