The transformative power of Information Technology in the domain of Cultural Heritage is a continuous unlocker of new opportunities, particularly in the performing arts domain. The Hyperstage project stands at the forefront of this innovation and promises new synergies and unexplored potential within the digital landscape of the performing arts. Hyperstage project aims to create an open knowledge base for the semantic reconstruction of theatrical productions. This will be achieved by harvesting and processing resources from the new Italian network of theatrical digital archives, which is supported by the Ministry of Universities and funded by the European Union’s Next Generation EU programme. The present paper summarises the conception, methodology and results achieved by the Hyperstage project, as well as the ongoing challenges and subsequent development phases.
