Di cataloghi, di donne e di streghe. Una riflessione sul doppio standard e sulle sue declinazioni.

The purpose of this paper is to reason about the so-called double standard, that attitude of judging the behaviour of men and women differently in relation to the same behaviour, especially sexual behaviour. This is a conceptual core mostly attributed to modernity that is instead deeply rooted in Western culture and cognition. It is, for instance, implicitly treated in Fragment 7 of Semonides (7th century BC). This fragment shows well defined that logic of contraposition between genders and between different individuals of the same gender, specifically that of women, which can still be found today at the basis of the different positioning of men and women in social and symbolic spaces.
