While it is widely recognized that digital transformation can act as an enabling factor for networked interaction between public administration and private organizations/citizens, only a few studies have so far analyzed the role of public-public collaboration in fostering public sector digital transformation. By conducting an exploratory case study on the Italian context, the chapter aims to unveil the reciprocal influence between digital transformation and public-public collaboration by answering this question: To what extent is a digital transformation approach fostering collaboration among public organizations? Our results contribute to the identification of the perceived barriers to effective collaboration among public organizations and the drivers public actors need to foster to orchestrate collaborative approaches.

Abstract
While it is widely recognized that digital transformation can act as an enabling factor for networked interaction between public administration and private organizations/citizens, only a few studies have so far analyzed the role of public-public collaboration in fostering public sector digital transformation. By conducting an exploratory case study on the Italian context, the chapter aims to unveil the reciprocal influence between digital transformation and public-public collaboration by answering this question: To what extent is a digital transformation approach fostering collaboration among public organizations? Our results contribute to the identification of the perceived barriers to effective collaboration among public organizations and the drivers public actors need to foster to orchestrate collaborative approaches.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
