Abstract

Here we report a direct observation, by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, of the intermediate [VO(OH2)(OH)(OBr)]+, which may be involved in the catalytic cycle of the V-Ha1PO enzymes. Ab initio calculations also support the stability of such a species.
