An alternative for paper-based analytical devices is proposed – a nanofibers mat, a porous structure prepared from plasticized lipophilic polymer containing fluoride selective corolla ionophore and ion-exchanger. This structure is applied as a receptor allowing camera assisted readout of optical signal related to change of fluoride anions concentration in a sample due to the presence of Si-corrole ionophore. A linear relation of color intensity of the probe in red or green channel on logarithm of analyte concentration in the sample within the range from 10−6 to 10−1 M was obtained. Advantageously analytical signal is obtained within short time and due to applied modification of nanofibers mat, addition of a pH buffer to the sample is not necessary. Herein proposed system – nanofiber based analytical device, nFAD, is analogous to a paper micropads system.
