Renal haemorrhage in horses is a rare clinical condition that can have numerous causes. It is usually associated with haematuria and can be life-threatening if the bleeding is severe. The case report by Hannan et al. in this issue describes a unique clinical manifestation of renal haemorrhage, referred to as Wunderlich syndrome. In this clinical commentary, an overview of other causes of renal bleeding will be presented.
