The aim of this work is to comment on the results of an acceptability test administered to a population of young middle school students. Continuing work already started on the perception of liaison and subjective representations (Laks & Floquet 2017; Celata, De Flaviis & Floquet 2020; De Flaviis 2021), we focus on both epiphonological competence and metaphonological awareness among two groups of teenagers from Toulouse and Menton. Our initial results point to a divergence between what the researcher finds in a corpus and what the naive listener perceives himself or herself, especially with regard to the status of the liaison.
