Starting from the concepts of microlingua and macrolingua, the article focuses on the unbreakable link between LSP and the language of common use, highlighting the importance of teaching students first of all how to identify the different peculiarities of each specific textual sub-genre, in order to develop a many-sided system of linguistic skills, based on the ability to understand a foreign language as a whole and to reproduce its essence.
