In this study, we evaluated whether electromagnetic fields due to indoor electronic devices may be harmful for exposed workers, according to current guidelines of Italian legislation. In particular, we tested the level of very low frequency emission of seven electronic devices. All measured electromagnetic fields were within the allowed range; however, one copy paper device, during the stage of maximal activation, showed values potentially harmful for workers staying in close proximity for a relatively prolonged time (more than 6 minutes). Further data on this subject may better quantify the potential risk (if any) for exposed workers.

Abstract
In this study, we evaluated whether electromagnetic fields due to indoor electronic devices may be harmful for exposed workers, according to current guidelines of Italian legislation. In particular, we tested the level of very low frequency emission of seven electronic devices. All measured electromagnetic fields were within the allowed range; however, one copy paper device, during the stage of maximal activation, showed values potentially harmful for workers staying in close proximity for a relatively prolonged time (more than 6 minutes). Further data on this subject may better quantify the potential risk (if any) for exposed workers.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
