The study starts from the investigation of the sources that cite the dedication of the Temple of Mars Ultor in Rome following the Parthian victory of Augustus in 19 BC. These sources are compared with archaeological, topographical and finally numismatic data to try to establish what the circular temple proposed as the Temple of Mars Ultor on the coins was.
Lo studio parte dall’indagine circa le fonti che citano la dedica del del Tempio di Marte Ultore a Roma a seguito della vittoria partica di Augusto nel 19 a.C. Queste fonti vengono messe a confronto con il dato archeologico, topografico e infine numismatico per cercare di stabilire quale fosse il tempio circolare proposto come Tempio di Mars Ultor sulle monete.
