The phrase "eis arithmon thentes" at the beginning of Book 2 of the Posterior Analytics puzzled many ancient and modern commentators. After reviewing their opinion and studying some still unpublished commentaries in the codices vetustissimi of the Organon and considering the use of the phrase in other authors, a new interpretation of the passage is suggested ("...counting it among one of the four types of investigation...").

Abstract
The phrase "eis arithmon thentes" at the beginning of Book 2 of the Posterior Analytics puzzled many ancient and modern commentators. After reviewing their opinion and studying some still unpublished commentaries in the codices vetustissimi of the Organon and considering the use of the phrase in other authors, a new interpretation of the passage is suggested ("...counting it among one of the four types of investigation...").File in questo prodotto:
