Since 2021, the University of Rome Tor Vergata, in collaboration with the Parco Archeologico di Leontinoi e Megara, is bringing to light a Greek archaic temple on the northern part of Colle San Mauro in Leontinoi. This discovery constitutes a significant addition within the framework of sacred buildings without peristasis in Sicily, providing an opportunity to rethink the discussion on the subject. Indeed, research regarding these architectural models still poses various issues, making the analysis of contexts more difficult. With the aim of placing the new temple acquisition in its historical and cultural context, the following article examine various sacred buildings without a colonnade, tracing their development and highlighting features and peculiarities. Additionally, a more detailed analysis of the Greek structure uncovered in Leontinoi is laid out here for the first time, identifying its main technical and constructional aspects, and contextualizing it within the broader urban topographic context.

Abstract
Additionally, a more detailed analysis of the Greek structure uncovered in Leontinoi is laid out here for the first time, identifying its main technical and constructional aspects, and contextualizing it within the broader urban topographic context.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
