This article describes how conflicts of interests in the provision of investment services are regulated under Italian law. The Markets in Financial Instruments Directive has been implemented in Italy in November 2007 and required the Italian legislators to amend the 1998 Financial Markets Consolidated Act (TUF). In particular, the present article focuses on the innovative means that were introduced by the Italian legislator for the purpose of both preventing and managing conflicts of interest.
