This study deals with the development of a new power supply system implanted in the human body to feed several implantable medical devices (IMDs). The power system is energized from outside the human body via a transcutaneous wireless power transfer (WPT) link implanted in a subcutaneous pocket. The internal power system is equipped with a backup battery and can continuously power multiple IMDs for a maximum power of 25 W. As a demonstration of the proposed solution, different IMDs are considered. An experimental setup was carried out and laboratory tests were performed on real devices to demonstrate the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed solution.

Abstract
This study deals with the development of a new power supply system implanted in the human body to feed several implantable medical devices (IMDs). The power system is energized from outside the human body via a transcutaneous wireless power transfer (WPT) link implanted in a subcutaneous pocket. The internal power system is equipped with a backup battery and can continuously power multiple IMDs for a maximum power of 25 W. As a demonstration of the proposed solution, different IMDs are considered. An experimental setup was carried out and laboratory tests were performed on real devices to demonstrate the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed solution.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
