Next Generation of Wired and Wireless Networks: the NavCom Integration

Future architectures in the 4G vision will be based on the key-concepts of wireless and wired technology convergence as well as the integration of systems, networks and services. Special attention is paid to the integration scenarios between communications and navigation networks and services. The effective exploitation of the integration concept could bring large benefits to the user, that would become the center of a global multi-service environment. System designers and operators are required to cope with – and to exploit – the complex and heterogeneous nature of the network.
