The paper reflects upon the reason why one, when they imagine something about atmospheres in politics, normally think of the aestheticization of politics put in place by authoritarian and totalitarian regime and not of democracy: there is an attempt here, based on a neophenomenological approach to aesthetics, to sketch out the atmospheric potential (also) of democracy and propose a few points for discussing a “provisional atmospheric morality”.
