In an article published in the Public Discourse on 28 June 2021, James Hankins notes that the construction of a New Renaissance is within the reach of several regions of the world or nations. Just as at the beginning of the Renaissance in the fourteenth, fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, we need today new ways of thinking that illuminate the way to solutions still to be explored. The syntagm has also known a political appropriation, which asks for a prompt consideration of its relation to three problems. The first lie in disentangling the idea of a New Renaissance from that Europe; the second in rethinking the definition of Renaissance; and the third in including citizens and local or national communities in the process.

Abstract
In an article published in the Public Discourse on 28 June 2021, James Hankins notes that the construction of a New Renaissance is within the reach of several regions of the world or nations. Just as at the beginning of the Renaissance in the fourteenth, fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, we need today new ways of thinking that illuminate the way to solutions still to be explored. The syntagm has also known a political appropriation, which asks for a prompt consideration of its relation to three problems. The first lie in disentangling the idea of a New Renaissance from that Europe; the second in rethinking the definition of Renaissance; and the third in including citizens and local or national communities in the process.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
