Camarina. Un recinto nell'agora e un frammento di louterion con l'episodio di Kaineus

Camarina, in Sicily, was founded in 598 BC. In recent years, a large space, probably originally open, has been discovered in the western sector of the agora, close to the west Stoa. In the following pages it is assumed that this space was the meeting place of the popular assembly (ekklesia or boulè) in the democratic city-state (polis) of Camarina. The area, however, as well as other areas of the town, was also frequented in the Archaic period. In fact, a fragment of louterion comes from this area. On it remains part of a relief with Centauromachy. Kaineus joins the fight.
