Abstract
The features of Cinisi Park are identified using a heuristic procedure which acknowledges the formal relationships between the parts, re-interpreting them in order to indicate new meanings. The process of homologation, imbued into the project, create correspondence with what has gone before. Two different timescales are emphasised in the design process: man, suspended between building anarchy and available resources, and nature, with a higher order. Two large trees: while the Pecan grows, its artificial replica shrinks, fertilising the park with its planted rings. The memory of Segesta: the allusive transposition of a recognisable architecture conjures up the outdated sacredness of the sites of history and the feeling of belonging to them. An infrastructure is often an anonymous device, propitiatory of shapeless growth. In this case the project bestows dignity on the street architecture as a permanent sign of the territory by playing on two levels: the ground, transversally permeable, and the street, a direct link between the two main polarities.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
