This article deals with the importance of the Classical elements in Andrea Camilleri’s writing, through the analysis of some extracts from the novel Una lama di luce and Riccardino, which was published posthumously after Camilleri’s death. This paper analyzes the use of the Latin expressions and of some topical Classical motifs, such as the Montalbano’s “prophetic dream”, which foreshadows the protagonist’s actions at the beginning of the novel, and the horror theme of the so-called “dead reborn”, probably influenced by Apuleius.
