It does not seem possible to explain the passages of Cicero (De off. 3, 20, 80) and Pliny (Nat. hist. 33, 46, 132) as early procedures of the crimen falsi (nummari) of the Sillan era. However, they reveal a dissimilar approach to the theme of counterfeiting (respectively repressive or preventive) and represent two different answers to a problem that, in any case, was felt in all its seriousness in the last century of the Republic.

Abstract
It does not seem possible to explain the passages of Cicero (De off. 3, 20, 80) and Pliny (Nat. hist. 33, 46, 132) as early procedures of the crimen falsi (nummari) of the Sillan era. However, they reveal a dissimilar approach to the theme of counterfeiting (respectively repressive or preventive) and represent two different answers to a problem that, in any case, was felt in all its seriousness in the last century of the Republic.File in questo prodotto:
