A study was conducted to report results of an experimental campaign carried out for investigating the properties of bulk W, a plasma-facing material candidate for applications in future nuclear fusion reactors (NFR). The material to investigate was elected among products prepared by different companies on the basis of mechanical and microstructural stability. W was n heat treated at 773 K and 1073 K with increasing soaking time. The samples in as-supplied condition and after each step of the heat treatments were examined by optical microscopy, TEM observations X-ray diffraction (XRD), and micro-hardness tests.

Abstract
A study was conducted to report results of an experimental campaign carried out for investigating the properties of bulk W, a plasma-facing material candidate for applications in future nuclear fusion reactors (NFR). The material to investigate was elected among products prepared by different companies on the basis of mechanical and microstructural stability. W was n heat treated at 773 K and 1073 K with increasing soaking time. The samples in as-supplied condition and after each step of the heat treatments were examined by optical microscopy, TEM observations X-ray diffraction (XRD), and micro-hardness tests.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
